TR;DR - Audio only streams correctly when using Blizzard's streaming service (directly to Facebook). No other avenues work.
The Issue; Only partial audio is being streamed. A tiny bit of the ambient sound in a game, e.g., vague menu clicks, some distant weather effects, can be heard. No music, dialogue comes through. As if the 'center' is being broadcast at all.
At this point we have uninstalled and reinstalled absolutely everything, multiple times. All relevant software, drivers, etc. with absolutely no effect. Uninstalled any 'extra' ASUS software relating to audio (Sonic Studio, which is apparently notorious for causing issues). Tried both ASUS recommended Realtek driver, and older versions. Reinstalled DirectX from within Fallout 4 folder (forum suggestion). Nothing has had any positive effect.
It occurs with all games (Fallout 4, WoW, Destiny 2...). It occurs with OBS and Xsplit, all possible settings tweaked and re-tweaked. It occurs when using either Mixer or Facebook as the platform (direct stream). Same results for all.
ONLY via Blizzard's streaming service, which streams directly to Facebook (and can only stream a couple of their own games currently), do we get the proper sound.
We've never had any such issues in the past with a pretty standard Dell laptop. Just click and stream and everything just worked. We have been fighting with this and searching for solutions for *weeks* and can find none.
Will have to RMA this beast soon, be without a machine for weeks, etc. Freaking dreadful. This really seems like a setting or combination of settings we just aren't aware of. Potentially a very simple fix. But damned if we can find it.
BTW, neither ASUS nor Xotic PC where it was purchased have any idea what to do. Useless.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
