Trying to find a desktop or laptop under $300 for someone in my family who wants to use OBS to livestream commentary and interviews. There is no gaming involved. They want to interview people using Skype and be able to show himself and the person interviewed at the same time. I am looking for a starter than will get him through for a year. I was unable to save up any extra because I was just told what he needed. I am not a techie. Hope someone can give me a place in the USA that has what I need sold online so it can be sent to him in Oklahoma. Next year I will be able to purchase a more expensive replacement since I will have time to save up the money for it. Preferably Windows.

There will probably nobody here who will stand up only for you and take the time consuming job to scan the market for machines that match your criteria. That's a time consuming job that is usually done by some salesperson, not the job for someone in this forum.

Instead, look for yourself through shops and collect a few offers you think that match your requirements. Post these offers, and there will be people here who tell you which offer will probably run well with OBS for your interviews, and which will not.

With not kmowing a list of Directx 10.1 GPUs
Or the list of the alternative GPUs

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE for a NON-TECHIE to find anythind since putting DIRECTX 10.1 in a search on any GPU seller's search comes up as: YOUR SEARCHTERM HAS NOT BEEN FOUND!!!!

Every GPU manufactured in the last 10 years has Directx 10 support. Pick any laptop or desktop that is not older than 5 years, and you will have it. Since every computer sold these days has Directx 10 support, it is no search criteria. Only stoneage computers back from the Windows XP era don't support it.
Pick your choice in a arbitrary computer shop, which means you find some offers that match your self-given budget range, then post links to the offers here, and we can tell which offer may be valid or not.

If you are unable to find a offer that matches your needs, I recommend you go into a computer retail store and consult a salesperson.

Don't get me wrong, but this forum discusses the usage of the software OBS, it's not a forum for finding low-cost computers or for explaining how to find offers in internet shops. If your internet skills are not sufficient to find a computer to buy, I recommend you practice dealing with the internet, and navigating and searching within the world wide web, because your child will definitely use the internet. The older he gets, the more he will. You as his parent must be able to observe and watch over his steps there. If you are not able to look over your child's actions in the internet and not able to advise and tutor and guide your child in this area, your child is in danger. Bad people lurk and hide within the internet, just as in the physical world.

Try to get a used machine with something like an i7 2600 or even an i7 3770 and get a GT 710/730 GTX750 and you should be looking at around $300 and capable of streaming.

Theres also an old Dell PowerEdge T30 they go for around 200 with an Xeon e3 1225 or something like that they are also usually sufficient and capable of being upgraded with an Low Wattage GPU that only takes Power through the PCI-E Slot.
