Line-In audio with mic?

I have an odd... issue I believe. Or maybe moreso just "how do I do this thing". I have a device (PlayStation Portable) that I'm trying to get audio to come in via male-to-male cable, in tandem with RemoteJoy Lite which I use to get the video output. Now, that stuff works, that's not the issue. What I'm experiencing is that I can't also use my USB microphone at the same time that my PSP audio is plugged in, in OBS, because if the mic is plugged in, there's very loud feedback.

Line-in is the only way I can connect the PSP to my computer to get audio and record/stream it with OBS, though, so I'm not sure how to have both my mic working, and the PSP audio at the same time. Could this be something solved by virtual audio cables, maybe? I've never tried those before, but it seemed like something that might help. I'm just not sure.

Interesting problem. I would be interested to know the source of the feedback. (Essentially, is the device audio going on a fun loop through the headset somehow, or vide-versa?) The virtual audio cable idea might help. I sometimes use Voicemeeter Potato, which gives me a rather high level of control over how individual audio sources and destinations are routed. The only downside is that I've experienced a small amount of latency, which I have not yet managed to kick- probably because I have not set aside time to work on what the contributing factors are, and correct them.

My use case is slightly similar: I can port music, sound effects, and a microphone into Zoom calls, but can filter out any audio I wish in any destination. The latency comes in for me, because as someone who did radio for a few years, I like to hear myself in my headset at least a little bit as a monitor. The latency is JUST enough to bother me a good bit. :( If I didn't care to monitor myself, I wouldn't have a problem.
