Question / Help Laptop with i7-6700hq as a streaming pc?

Hello,

I've been trying to find a good laptop to use as a streaming pc on my dual pc streaming setup and i am wondering if its possible to run a stable 1080p / 60fps stream with medium / slow cpu preset with that cpu?

Just to mention, I'm currently trying to choose between upgrading my cpu on my computer to something like i7- 6950x for streaming or to buy a good laptop to use as a streaming pc. I'm leaning towards the laptop since it's more portable so i could take it anywhere i go and if the laptop has a good cpu i could probably stream some light games with it too :)

1080p60 on medium or slow is more than even a high-end desktop CPU will be able to manage in most cases, unless you throw an exorbitant amount of money at it. If you're streaming to Twitch it will still look terrible, too. If you want to roll with a 2PC setup you would be better off building a solid second desktop PC (think 6700K) with the giant bag of money you'd have to spend on a 6950X upgrade.

Hey,

I decided to go with the laptop route and with little testing i got my stream running 720p @ 60fps with cpu preset set to medium. I'm quite happy with the quality it gives out and the load it takes off of my computer while playing :)

Laptop Specs are:
Gpu: Gtx 1060 6gb
Cpu: i7 6700hq
Ram: 16gb (can't remember the speed)

Other specs really don't matter so i wont post them :)
