Hi guys, I have a problem that I would love to get some help with. So recently, I was doing recording on a video game and there is this persistent flashing effect whenever I drag with my mouse or move around. I made sure the game is in full screen and used in game capture. My OBS M is the latest version. Here is a link to one of such videos I have problems with.

The video is kind of long but you can just skip to any part of the game and you should see this weird flashing. It is as if the recording is blinking which is really odd. Thank you for your time.

You put your display capture and window capture sources above your game capture source. Thus even though game capture is there, you can't see it because the other two sources obscure it. The flashing is coming from one of the other two sources as they aren't meant to work with full screen games. Put the game capture source on top instead, it will be transparent when it isn't hooking anything.

Sapiens! It has been awhile. Thanks again for helping out. Man are you an active moderator. I had no idea the order of the capture matters. Let me give it a try now!

I had a late cup of coffee. Or two. :) The order of sources in the list affects how they appear in the preview. Stuff at the bottom will appear "below" the stuff above it, so e.g. if you put a webcam source lower in the list than a display capture source, the webcam will be under it visually in the preview too and you won't see it.

Omg, so all this time I have been using Display Capture without knowing it...... So I tried a few combinations. It seems like if I use Game Capture, OBS is only getting black screen. Strange. I tried to remove other capture settings and tried only Game and only Display Capture and once more with Game on top and Display on bottom but all I get is black screen where Game Capture is on top.

So I was trying that for awhile now. The instruction lost me at the last step. I went in and selected OBS MUL 64 bit and I had the program run as admin. The thing is I do not know where is the select to use nvidia performance adapter. Any help on that?

That user has a desktop and thus a different issue from you and your laptop. Your NVIDIA control panel should have a section like this (thanks Google image search):

You should change it to prefer your NVIDIA hardware instead. If you don't have that option I recommend doing a clean driver install per https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/performing-a-clean-gpu-driver-installation.65/

I checked my device manager and display adapters and found only my GTX 980M. I did not find any other display adapters but I am sure I used to have another one a long time ago but now it is gone. This is probably why I do not have an option to switch in the control panel. Strange, I have no recollection what my other graphics card is >.>. I have been running the GTX card all the time, including power saver mode. When I disable my GTX, the screen just gets weird and no other display shows up. As for GTX, it is updated to the latest version with Experience.

Did you try the link I provided for doing a clean GPU driver install? You might try it for both Intel and NVIDIA drivers, since I'm pretty sure your i7-4710HQ should be showing an HD4600 integrated GPU along with your 980M. Could you have disabled it in the BIOS?
