Question / Help Laptop Black Screen

Hello,

I'm having an issue streaming my Xbox One to Twitch with my laptop. Once I start the stream, my entire laptop will display a black screen which forces me to press and hold the power button to restart. This was initially happening about five minutes into the stream until I configured the NVIDIA graphics card as the preferred video adapter. Once I made that change, I was able to stream for about 15 - 20 minutes until it happened again. I recently installed Windows 7 and have updated all of my drivers. This is really frustrating and hope I can get this resolved.

Thanks

26 whole views after a few hours on a Sunday afternoon and no replies from the people who volunteer their time and patience to help others with this really nice free software. Good heavens.

That said, there's definitely weird behavior in the log, including a shift in time formats, and the following error:

Code:
device_resize (D3D11): Failed to resize swap buffers (887A0005)

Which when looked up on Microsoft's site returns: "The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred."

So the first step I'd recommend is making sure your video drivers are in order. Follow the steps at https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/performing-a-clean-gpu-driver-installation.65/ to do a clean driver install. If things still aren't working properly after you do that, post an updated log so we can see if anything has changed.

You're right, this is open-source and people do volunteer their time to make it better! I apologize for my comment. I followed your advise and was able to stream for about 45 minutes before I experienced the same issue. I've attached the latest logs for review. Thank you.

I tested the stream again last night and monitored the temperatures. I found my problem... I ordered some Artic Silver 5 and I'll be removing the OEM paste in the next few days. I looked up my CPU and it has a maximum temperature of 105C! This should not be happening since the CPU only has less than a 20% load. I'll keep you all posted.

This can be marked as resolved. I replaced the thermal compound on my CPU and GPU which has kept my temperatures around 80 degrees celsius while streaming. Thank you for helping me resolve this and keeping this software free!!
