Question / Help Laggy Recordings

Hi! Wondering if you all can help me!

I haven't been doing any streaming with OBS, not my sort of thing but I am loving the recording function.
Unfortunately, my recordings always end up with the video freezing for a few seconds. The audio continues to play unhindered but the video freezes and then very suddenly catches up.

I'm recording using "Game Capture" and "Video Capture Device" onto MP4 format.

Any suggestions as to what might be wrong and how to solve it? Thanks

P.S. Happy to send any info about settings or hardware that you need to know.

Of course! Sorry!
Can't work out which one matches which video unfortunately, so here is one example.

It is recommended to use different settings from the ones in your log for recording.

https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/

I use https://www.dropbox.com/s/ark5xealuljh3ej/Screenshot 2015-08-18 14.00.13.png?dl=0 as my settings for local recording. CRF values below about 18 offer very rapidly diminishing returns for quality gained. For CRF, lower is better.

Using the ultrafast preset with these settings increases the file size to reduce the cpu use of the encoder.
