So recently my obs preview seems to have some frame drops and as a result the video output also lags and becomes annoying to see. Before i would record on nvenc at 120kbps high quality on 1080 60p with no drops in frames but now even though my gpu and cpu have a good 20% room to breathe the recordings seem really laggy. my specs should be just fine.
Ryzen 5 1600 @3.7GHz
GTX 1060 3G OC at 2164MHz
8gb DDR4 RAM
1TB Seagate HDD that i record on
128gb SSD for booting.
I also tried viewing the video with vlc but it isnt a problem of windows media player but the video itself is laggy.
I have disabled Game dvr and other services that could lag my system but still no fix. I even tried different formats (i record on .mkv) and going back to an older version but nothing fixed my problem.I highly dought that it's the system that is holding back obs 1) specs are decent 2)recording before was smooth af 3)even when recording minecraft(that before didnt lag) now has frame drops with my cpu being at 30% usage on task manager and gpu at around 30% too.I would record on cpu and gpu before and know that it didnt have a problem running( CPU Setting were a. preset faster b. cbr 60kbps bitrate c. profile none and output 1080p 60fps on bicubic) (GPU settings were a. cbr 120kbps bitrate b. profile high c. preset high quality low latency and 1080p 60fps and some times 1080p 120fps at bicubic ) Dont know what else to say. Any ideas?
