Hello!

I have a Dell Inspiron i5 16gb ram hdd with AMD Radeon 520 and i record the game: State of Decay 1 (display capture + video capture device selected)

Game runs smoothly. Record run perfect while i am on desktop or in the home menu of the game or in its loading screen. But when i enter into the actual game then the video immediately lags hell of a lot, like 1 frame per 5 secs or even stucks at 1 frame.

I post here the log of the obs:

I would appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!

21:39:08.155: Output 'simple_file_output': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 969 (23.1%)

Rendering lag caused by GPU overload.

https://obsproject.com/wiki/GPU-overload-issues

21:39:08.156: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 1252/4183 (29.9%)

Encoder overload (in this case, your integrated GPU's quicksync encoder).

You should probably be running OBS on your AMD card as long as your game can be captured by game capture. It's only necessary to run on the integrated card if you need to use display capture.

Perfect, thanks for the answer! But there is one minor problem! I can't find my AMD hardware anywhere in the options! Any help with that maybe?

Because it does not support hardware encoding:

According to this benchmark site: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/Intel-HD-Graphics-620-vs-Radeon-R7-M445/3592vs3598
the difference in power of the iGPU of your Intel CPU and your external AMD GPU is only about 10%. A difference that low is almost not perceivable by the user. You can as well use the iGPU and ignore the external one - it's somewhat wasted. Both are on the low end of GPU pwerformance. The machine is suitable and was probably designed for Office work primarily. It's enough power to display the Windows desktop.
