Question / Help Laggy Game Recording

Hi. I'm trying to start up a gaming YouTube channel. I have struggled since Sunday jumping from different recording software before finally discovering and liking OBS Studio best and from there the learning curve figuring it out. Finally, tonight I got it to record my game and mic audio and while playing the game it loaded fine and there was no lag. Well upon playing it back when I had completed I found the game lagged terribly, to where I'd be talking for minutes at a time while the game sat there froze at a certain part. I also found the video stopped recording early despite the software saying it was still recording. I finally clicked stop recording at about 45 mins to an hour after I started and the video only came out to about 34 minutes 44 seconds.

I'm a noob with all of this video recording and such and any help would be appreciated greatly.

Simple output mode, indistinguishable quality, x264 low cpu encoder.

Nvm Figured it out. So this will fix the lag then?

Also just to make sure "x264 low cpu encoder." is what appears as "Encoder: (Software x264 low CPU usage preset, increases file size)?

Bumping this because I still need help. I updated my settings to how Harold suggested. Tried again tonight. While the lag wasn't as severe as it was when I made this thread, the lag was still pretty bad and choppy. Can anyone please help me further?
