Sample video: https://youtu.be/cFNfQY6wP9M

I've been using OBS/Multiplatform/Studio for over a year and had no problems until recently. I've reinstalled windows and I've also changed the motherboard, CPU, and ram AFTER the problem started, so I believe it has something to do with the 970, as I had a very bad amd from 2010 that could record csgo at pretty good settings. The game is running at over 150fps. I have tried just about every setting but I don't know everything so perhaps there is something I haven't done. My graphics drivers are up to date and I updated them multiple times including minutes before posting this. I have tried different encoders (NVENC and 264) the elgato's built in software isn't working perfectly but it having no where near these severe of issues.

Have you OBS Studio log-file from this video example? Attach it there, please.

Is your monitor 60Hz?
v-sync in the game enabled?

Here you are: http://pastebin.com/uXZpDjws

Yes it is 60Hz. I don't believe Vsync is related because this happens in almost every game, but I will change the settings to see if there is a result, thanks for the suggestion. I have a second monitor (it isn't full 1080p), I'll change it to my primary to record for a second and see if something changes.

I think, you need to update to v0.15.4, first. And try to post whole log (after Studio restart).

  1. Start recording (or streaming).
  2. Make your video.
  3. Stop recording (or streaming).
  4. Wait until it stopped.
  5. Close OBS Studio.
  6. Start OBS Studio.
  7. Navigate to menu Help>Log Files>Upload Last Log File
  8. Copy generated link and paste it on the forum.

OBS does its compositing with the GPU. If you're maxing out your GPU running the game, there won't be enough spare capacity to do the compositing. Try with vsync enabled.
