Lag while trying to record Nintendo Switch

I am new to recording game play with my Elgato HD60 S. Trying to record some Nintendo Switch game play and experiencing overall poor results. I added a log of my recent recording https://obsproject.com/logs/6N_oxl5qTIU23vJV.

I suspect it is a performance issue with my laptop but I am hoping someone can shed some light on to how I can possibly record higher quality footage. Thanks.

Unfortunately your logfile does not contain a recording session, so does not have any diagnostic data to tell where the problem lies. It also looks like the auto-configuration wizard was interrupted before it could finish. If you want to re-run that, it's available from the Tools menu, and can get you the best settings for your system, whether you intend to stream or only record locally.

To get a logfile so we can have a look, you'll want to start OBS, start recording, make sure the problem occurs and that you record for at least 30 seconds, stop recording, go to the Help menu, Log Files, Upload Current Logfile, and paste the URL it gives you here. :)

That said, your CPU is a U-model, which optimize for battery life and not performance... real-time video encoding is a VERY computationally-demanding task. Chances are good you may need to use the QSV encoder rather than the default software x264.
