OK so I know it's been a few updates.

Is it just me or is anyone else having issues with keybinds not working/disappearing after trying to use them. Even when running obs as admin.

Post step by step guide to reproduce the problem. (Are you switching Profiles/Scene Collections?)

Each time I have tried to do it it recently all I setup is Start Streaming/Recording tied to CTRL+ALT+Num + and Stop Streaming/Recording tied to CTRL+ALT+ Num -. Early on I tried to setup keybinds to switch scenes and mute audio, but that was like 0.10. Config has been completely replaced since then.

When I go to use it it will start one of them then they keybind rows in settings will disappear for starting, and Then attempting to stop will only work on the one left behind usually recording. The keybind options wont show up until obs is closed and reopened.

And of course I go and try to do it right now and it behaves.... even when not launching it as admin... Ok now I have to figure out why its not happening, and hope it continues to work..

Also i love how i keep making my desktop icons smaller... >< which is making me wonder if it's a conflicting keybind with windows. Interesting.

Sigh... Posted and closed OBS Studio... Walked away came back from getting water... reopened obs... and see attachement.

The start streaming / stop streaming is gone. Log and picture attached.

All i did was open obs and switch out of studio mode and went into settings to play with streaming output settings. Decided I should check keybinds and gone. which also means they wont work.

Finally, useful info. OK.

To reproduce problem:
  1. Start OBS Studio.
  2. Enter Studio Mode
  3. Exit Studio Mode
  4. Go to Settings>Hotkeys - ('Start Streaming' and 'Stop Streaming' UI disappeared!)
That's you'll mean?

(tested on Win7x86)

Well I can't say studio mode switching triggered it. Mainly because I tried that a few more times and didn't happen again.

Usually it's open up OBS and it either works or doesn't work.

So usually what I do is
  1. Open obs
  2. Switch scene's to Starting(left side) and blank (right side) for getting started streaming. I am lazy i leave it on the ending and game usually.
  3. Then try to start with hot key.
  4. Then it only starts recording.
  5. Then I go crap and stop the recording, because i know the keybind is broken

Now... I just did this... and guess what it did it again. No keybind option for start streaming! Wondering if it's tied to something with the scenes. I have tried deleting the configuration files and reconfiguring everything before, and got the same issue.

Is there something with keybinds tied to scenes? Is there a way to turn on advanced logs?

PS this is with 64bit obs even running in admin

OK. Some additional steps required (new Scene Collection, new Profile).

The fastest of way to reproduce problem on my side:

  1. Start OBS Studio.
  2. Create new Scene Collection.
  3. Create new Profile.
  4. Add any source to scene (empty source - is good enough).
  5. Enter Studio Mode.
  6. Exit Studio Mode.
  7. Go to Settings>Hotkeys - ('Start Streaming' and 'Stop Streaming' UI disappeared!).
Edit: in Studio Mode, Duplicate Scene must be enabled (checked) to reproduce issue. If it is unchecked - there is no issue described above.

So you are able to reproduce it!

So I am not crazy?... well I probably am but that's besides the point.

Also I don't think it's limited to the start /stop streaming I believe after the update that made it required to make new configs I tired to do keybinds for other things and they would disappear too. I usually try to do keybinds after each update, but haven't been able to continually use them because of them disappearing like this.

I hate to say it but i have the same problem as well. Whenever I open OBS my start and stop hot keys work fine, But when ever i do something else like switching Scene's. The start and stop hot keys no longer work and in the settings the UI has Disappeared.

Edit: I just checked and and it is mainly triggered when duplicate scene is on.

Edit: Fixed in version v20.0.1 (https://github.com/jp9000/obs-studio/commit/650495331d6f75fd77993dfac047346931c4d212)

Unfortunately, during the clean up, the mantis report was closed :( Edit: reopened now O_o

Hope this new video update should help to locate and troubleshot the issue. I had added video steps of the strange behavior with streaming key (FLV movie in attached .zip archive)

New steps:
  1. Start OBS Studio.
  2. Create new Scene Collection.
  3. Create new Profile.
  4. Add any source to scene (empty source - is good enough).
  5. Close OBS Studio
  6. Run OBS Studio
  7. Enter Studio Mode.
  8. Exit Studio Mode.
  9. Go to Settings>Hotkeys - ('Start Streaming' and 'Stop Streaming' UI disappeared!).
in Studio Mode, Duplicate Scene must be enabled (checked) to reproduce issue. If it is unchecked - there is no issue described above.
