Jerky Video

I am trying to make an mp4 video, my problem is that im using a mp4 video playing on my pc for the background of my video and then recording images with a transparent background , that way i see my moving background behind my images that i record, but when i play it , it is always jerky. What am i doing wrong ? Please help, thanks
