Hi guys, guitarist here.
What I am trying to do is very simple: play a backing track on YouTube, solo over it with my guitar, using my Fractal FM9 as a sound interface.
My guitar is connected to the Fractal, as well as my headphones. The Fractal is connected to my Audient ID14 interface through USB and SPDIF.
I can hear the backing track and play over it, but when I open OBS and add a track "capture sound input", select FM9 as device, it will only record the guitar, not the backing track. If I select other track options, like "capture sound output", it will not display FM9 among the selectable devices.
There must be something I am missing in terms of connections. With my Windows laptop it was easier because I could select "record desktop audio" among the OBS tracks, but this isn't an option on Mac. Any suggestion?
