recently i got a Dell latitude e6430, and i needed to screen record with it, and i downloaded OBS Studio, i tried to record with it and it didn't work, read the forum dedicated to the issue, saw i was on a build above that threshold annd tried everything else, and it still didn't work!?!?
Here are the specs to my system to see if it an issue to do with my hardware.
CPU: intel core I7 3720qm
GPU: Nvidia NVS 5200m
Storage: Seagate 500GB HDD

Those are the main specs that i know.
thanks

That is a real old CPU (8 generations old), and a slow spinning disk drive (I'm assuming you are recording onto)
Also, you don't mention what isn't working? When you hit Start Recording, what happens? see article on posting OBS log (pinned article at top of forum)
Do you get a video file? if yes, but it is terrible, decent chance your laptop is simply overloaded (video encoding is demanding work)... but hard to say with any certainty until you provide more info
