My friend's stream has been having a bizarre issue - it will stream fine for 2 to 2.5 hours, then disconnect. He created a new twitch account and tested, he was able to stream for 5 hours fine. He has tried multiple fixes, but it seems like this issue returns. Is it possible this is a cache issue? (He has replaced his modem/router, talked to Twitch support, ect.) Not sure this is an OBS issue, but we're kinda lost.

If it's streaming successfully, it's not an OBS issue. Unless he's turned on the auto-end timer in the Tools menu, for some reason. If that's the case just go into the Tools menu and turn it off.
Most commonly that sort of thing happens with cheap modems/routers that can't handle long-duration connections like streaming relies on; has a buffer inside the modem/router fill and overflow and crash the connection. It wouldn't explain him being able to stream for longer with a new Twitch account though.
