Is there an AutoMute on VoiceOver plugin

I seem to recall at one time I had a plugin that automatically muted, or faded down the screen audio when the narrator spoke so that only the person voice was heard and not the background sound from the game or app playing on the screen/?
Is there such a thing? or am I thinking of something else?
