Is there a way I can have OBS automatically reconnect to my mic if it gets disconnected while recording?

I've had a few situations where I've recorded something, during which my microphone becomes unplugged and OBS switches to the mic on my headphones, which is, comparatively, garbage. I'll plug my mic back in right away, but in these situations, OBS doesn't change back to using my good mic, it keeps using the mic on my headphones. Can I make it so it automatically switches back to my good mic as soon as it's reconnected?

So it could be 2 things.

1. OBS isn't detecting your microphone after you've plugged it back in, which would mean it doesn't show up under your list of devices after you've plugged it back in.

2. You have your Audio device set as default and your OS is changing which microphone is the default.

If the second is the case, you should be able to set a priority for your microphone audio if you setup both microphones as an audio input.

Add your good microphone as your first device by name, then add your crappy headset microphone as the second Auxiliary audio input then mute it on your audio mixer.

Thank you so much! And just to make sure, this will, by default, choose to use my good mic for recordings, and, in the event that it is disconnected, switch to my bad mic, and, when reconnected, switch back to my good mic?

No this won't "swap" between the mics at all.

So assuming you have muted your crappy microphone in your audio mixer after this setup,

if you unplug your good device, your microphone input for the recording will stop entirely until you either unmute your crappy mic or plug in the good one again.

Oh, alright. Either way, this works. Thanks!
