Question / Help Is my Macbook even capable of 'decent' streaming?

Hi guys, here I am again.

Posted a thread about my LGP2+ a week ago or so, but since that thing doesn't work on my mac with OBS I want to buy a new capture card. Before doing this, I want to make sure that my Macbook is even capable of streaming (FIFA or Fortnite). If I am missing some important information, let me know than I'll add it later. See the specifications of my Mac in the attachment. If it is capable, what kind of device would you suggest?

Thanks in advance.

You could probably do 720p30. Anything more and you may get rendering lag; the Intel GPU in that rig is pretty underpowered.

And what device do you suggest for the Mac. I bought the Elgato and AVerMedia LGP2 but they didn't work. Which device is the most compatible with Mac + works with OBS?

Hi! I use macpro 2015 core i7 16gb SSD256 +external nvidia
I cant normal stream with OBS
LGP (ReCentral) perfectly write my consol (ps4) 720p60fps but when i try make record from OBS its look like shit ( loosing framrates, sound gliches, soap picture...
I dont know what should be mac for stable stream (
I'm really looking forward to the help of the owners of MAC who successfully stream and of course support comments

Several tests i just do:
if i stream in 960х5хх 60fps - with x264 (that recomended by wizard) i have lags:
23:23:45.413: ==== Recording Start ===============================================
23:23:45.413: [ffmpeg muxer: 'adv_file_output'] Writing file '/Users/Archy/Movies/2018-06-03 23-23-45.flv'...
23:25:13.097: [ffmpeg muxer: 'adv_file_output'] Output of file '/Users/Archy/Movies/2018-06-03 23-23-45.flv' stopped
23:25:13.097: Output 'adv_file_output': stopping
23:25:13.097: Output 'adv_file_output': Total frames output: 5199
23:25:13.097: Output 'adv_file_output': Total drawn frames: 5241 (5261 attempted)
23:25:13.097: Output 'adv_file_output': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 20 (0.4%)
23:25:13.098: ==== Recording Stop ================================================
23:25:13.099: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 26/5261 (0.5%)

I change codec typy on Apple VT H264 - and i had record without lags!
Then i try up resolution to 720p60fps - Lags appeared again

I will try play more with config, but i think its useless to try stream on mac 720p60 (
PS4 in lower resolution looks line u know what )

PS I use LGP

Capture devices by Magewell, Blackmagic and AJA work with OBS on MacOS.

The Elgato Camlink also reportedly works but I have not used one.

the elgato camlink IMO is the best. its hdmi in, usb 3.0 out. whatever hdmi you plug into is read as a video camera, with native audio and video drivers good to go. However, the camlink needs a Gen 4 i5 processor to run. I am not sure what i5 you have but it might be earlier than that.

Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle requires USB3 and can handle 720p60.

AJA UTAP HDMI requires USB3 and can handle 1080p60.

Camlink may well work but I haven't tested myself and am generally wary of Elgato's Mac support given their history.

I can have 2 elgato camlinks attached to my 2015 mbp 2.2GHz & stream.
Annoying that the elgato software complains at startup once per camlink that my mbp does not meet minimum hardware requirements, but they do.
I think it's upset I don't have a discrete GPU, so everything runs off the CPU.
With half a dozen overlay sources in each of 4 different scenes (2 per camlink - 1 downscaled from 1080p to 720p the other "zoomed" in to a 720p area of the same source), CPU utilization is typically ~30%.
