Question / Help Is my Mac powerful enough for OBS?

Hi, I'd like to do a screencast tutorial on Ableton using OBS, but I'm wondering if either I have the wrong settings or my just doesn't have the juice required!

I'm running a Mac Mini (late 2009), 2.53 ghz processor, 8gb ram, graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB.

Has anyone had success with a similar set up? If so, what settings are recommended?

That's a Core 2 Duo machine. It's going to give you trouble doing much more than 720p30. You didn't mention what resolution or framerate you selected, or whether you're recording or streaming, so beyond that it's hard to advise.
