Question / Help Is My GPU Outdated?

hey, i've been sewtting up and trying to use OBS for about an hour and when i try to record, an error appears which follows:
Starting the output failed. please check the log for details.
Note:if you are using the nvenc or amd encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date

i have a sneaking suspicion that my GPU isn't supported. any ideas?
