Question / Help Is it recording...?

Hi there

I just had it a few times now, that i hit the record-hotkey, recorded stuff for more than an hour just to find out afterwards, that the software did not start the record at all... This is more than frustrating.
Is there ANY way, that I can monitor if OBS is recording right now when I am currently in a fullscreen software? Like an overlay that is not recorded (as in dxtory) or something similar? There is software I can not re-enter, so I can't just switch tabs to see if OBS is running....
Is there aaaaanything I can do to monitor?

Sadly i dont believe there is an overlay or anything like that. What most people do is have obs on their second monitor so they can see that way. If you only have one monitor, start the game up, and then tab out to check obs has "hooked" onto the game, start recording and then tab the game back up :)

They should try to make an overlay though. It would especially helpful to see chat ingame and fullscreen. Imagine how epic it would be...
Even if I would've a 2nd monitor (which I certainly dont buy for a chat window xD) it would be more comfortable to have the chat on the main screen, because if I e.g. play a racing game I cant always look to an other monitor and read some text there. I can read it on main monitor though.
