I was looking for a method to use Chroma Key effects without a physical green screen.
Found some tutorials, mostly hawking wallet draining programs/services.
Found one mentioning opening a "free" account with Soom.
My question is, can chroma Key effects be done in OBS for free without additional apps or expense?

There's a few of these, and none of them work well. Frankly, they all end up looking like hot crap, to a greater or lesser degree.
nVidia offers an RTX-powered one IIRC, and I think that XSplit has a free software solution too.

Honestly though, a greenscreen is cheap and pretty easy to set up.
My first one was a few pieces of green project board from Walmart glued together. Then a bright blue bedsheet and some PVC from home depot to make a frame. Then I got tired of screwing around and dropped fifty bucks on a 'real' photography one.
If space is more the issue, Elgato makes collapsible free-standing ones for a markup.
Hardest part is lighting it right.

Argh. Well, after checking out Xsplit, decided to purchase a
Konseen 5x6.5feet Collapsible Pop-Up Background Reflector
Panel 4in1 Green Blue Screen Chromakey
That way, it's a physical thing as opposed to software, and I can
focus more on end product instead of learning more software.
