Is it possible to record a virtual screen / a screen in the background while I keep using my laptop in parallel doing something else

Sometimes I passively participate in some zoom meetings / lectures which I want to record in order to watch later in a more convenient time.
Can I record such a session while I keep using my laptop with other apps and still not ruin the main session recording ?

I get some sessions that are scheduled overlapping a time that I have to do other things with my laptop.
So I would prefer to record the zoom session for later watch and keep doing the other activities while it's being recorded.
My new laptop should be fast enough and capable.
It has lots of RAM (64G) & fast CPU (&GPUs)

Then you can just record the window of zoom. it is : scene-> window capture. And for sound use sound source, which you do not use while doing other things.

Hi,
Sorry for my delay and thanks for the reply.
I understand that I can only record one sound source and my other activities should not use sound.
I seem to be missing something else.
I got OBS started as the attached screenshot...
I tried many ways to do as you advised but I have no such option from the Scene menu at the bottom and when I do a "window capture" from the 2nd from left menu and start recording it keeps recording all the other screens and activity that I do with them
and not just the window that I started with.
I'm new to this app and need to learn more on how to work with it ...
Thanks

The steps should be in following order:
1. Open zoom
2. Open OBS and aad window capture and select Zoom.
3. Select the sound device you want to record and aad it .
should be 2 sources in your scene and you are done.
