Is It Possible to Put An Image Mask Over a Filter?

I'm playing around with the scroll filter, and I'm trying to fine tune the edges where you see the image disappear as it scrolls to be less box shaped.

Is it possible to stack multiple Effect Filters, in your case Scroll and Image Mask/Blend filters. Please be aware that the order of filters matters... Upon your description I guess that you'd have the image mask above (before) the scrolling, but best to experiment a little.
