Is anyone using Vset3D for virtual sets?

While doing some research on virtual sets, I came across Vset3D: http://www.vset3d.com/?v=11aedd0e4327 I'm currently evaluating their demos. It enables me to create an interactive 3D virtual studio or environment in which I 1) can place OBS NDI content and 2) create freely moveable virtual cameras that I can feed back into OBS (again via NDI). Pretty amazing to me.

Some downsides: it's not cheap (but not overly expensive for (semi-)pro use) and it requires a powerful system. They actually recommend two systems on the same gigabit LAN, one running Vset3D and one running OBS. So far, I can run both easily together on my Ryzen 9 3900X + RTX 2060 SUPER system.

So far, this looks like a fairly briljant piece of software. But I'm surprised to find almost no reference to it on the web, also not on this forum. It can't be that I'm the only one interested in the combo of OBS and virtual sets? Or am I? The site is not a hoax, it works well and they respond quickly to questions. Do I miss something?

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this company whatsoever

Hi,
I'm on the same boat!

I have yet to try the demo, will also report here some pro's and con's. Have you found anything else about this software? Any red flags?

Cheers

It has some quirks, one way or another it feels not fully mature yet, nothing major though. I still struggle a bit with the precise positioning of objects in and navigation through the 3D space, but that is not uncommon for 3D applications. But all and all, I have not found any red flags so far. The developer is very responsive for questions. I'm considering to purchase the Vset3D-Pro3 version, in which one can import ones own sets in FBX format, although that is yet another hurdle to take. One of the Vset3D-Pkxxx versions will be a quicker start, but then one is limited to the (customizable) presets.

This software is excellent. I am preparing to launch a new AWS managed service that will feature VMIX, OBS, Vset3D, etc. Pay as you go for broadcast minutes. Until I dug into Vset3D I was looking into high-end virtual production 3D software like Brainstorm, Vizrt, Zero Density, etc. All real expensive designed for top-end broadcast studios. With an inexpensive green screen studio (less than $500) a reasonable HD camera, with Vmix and or OBS combined with Vset3D you can produce some great live and on-demand content that is in a lot of use cases produces results similar to high-end pro broadcast setups. But you are right Vset3D has little or no visibility. BTW TurboSquid has over 30 3d virtual sets (FBX) for sale all under $200. Copy of Blender = custom sets, with some minor changes.

Hi! I am also considering purchasing vset3d but was shocked how little info there is about them. Is it possible to buy sets from external providers that are compatible with their vset3d? Which set maker would you reccommend? I am loooking for a good and robust virtual news studio.

Hi,

I tested VSet3D last year in April, it seems the Demo version is very limited and to be honest my initial experience was not amazing, in December I tested again the new version that includes DMX Lightning and I was with the impression that in my laptop Windows 16 GB of memory and RTX 2060 the performance was not very good. I would like to ask the colleagues that are using VSet 3D, What is the performance in your setup's and which computers are you using ? Second question is anyone of you are using the version with DMX ? If yes any feedback on that ? Finally I noticed that since end of October Zero Density has a community version that is free (https://www.zerodensity.tv/) anyone have tried it already ? Thanks in advance

yeah the community version is great stuff. But... I have been trying to find some info on integrating Zero Density into OBS and how would the workflow between these two would actually look like. So far no luck. Zero Density has some fantastic chroma keying processing and awesome sets.
For example... can you integrate zero density with stream deck?

Hi Sergio, ive been looking into on how to actually connect The new VSet3D show with DMX fixtures to my hardware, have you tried it and any guides on how to actually use them? Vset seems very quiet about this new update. Thanks

Hello,

I'm exploring the same thing now, and wondering if anyone had the chance to do a LIVE broadcast using vMix and Vset3d?
Thanks!

¿Me pierdo algo?

¡Gracias!

Hi,
I was even confused between Vset3d and WASP3d . But after further analysis, I discovered WASP3D is better and even cost-efficient. I think you should try their virtual set software for creating high-quality virtual sets. This software is even compatible with vMIX, OBS and NDI.
