Question / Help Is an Intel i7 6700k 4.00GHz good enough to record.

I have an intel i7 6700k 4.00GHz in my pc and I am trying to record but obs keeps maxing out my cpu making the video look really choppy and laggy, is my cpu not enough? Do I need a better one? If so then which one should I get, if not then how can I fix obs maxing out my cpu.
