Question / Help Is 4770k enough for 720bps @ 60 fps at medium preset for Dedicated Streaming PC only

Hi,

I intend to get a second PC to use for playing video game. While my current one (4770k) will be used for streaming purpose only (dedicated streaming PC). Would love to know if I can get the 720bps @60fps at medium preset with that CPU?

Or should I just upgrade it too? I.e: buy 2 new pcs , one for gaming , one for streaming. Thank you

The i7 4770k should be capable of handling 720p60 @ medium as a dedicated streaming PC but experience may vary

You might want to look for a ryzen cpu if you haven't bought a second pc already. The R7 ryzen CPUs have 8 cores with 16 threads, which is better than a 4 core and 8 thread CPU.

Just to add, I have no experience with streaming, but if you wait a few days, we'll have ryzen benchmarks...

We already have plenty of Benchmarks especially Cinebench which shows best the reality of single and multithread performance and starting with the 1700 there is more than enough power for a really fair price.

you meant for streaming? I might look at that, but since I've already owned 4770k, it would be a waste not to use it (or sell it +mobo/ram to get ryzen)

For gaming PC, definitely looking at ryzen, but I'll wait a bit more to see whats the review

I would actually suggest you use your 4770k for gaming and a ryzen for streaming. Altough, I'm curious what others have to say about this

Are you going to be using a dedicated GPU or the iGPU for the dedicated streaming pc?

I had a very bad stutter (Medium setting/60fps) with my dedicated streaming build (streaming via capture card (magewell usb) that was fixed after switching up from an igpu to a RX480.

Just a heads up.
