Integrating a wirless lav mic with OBS

HI All -
Just getting to know OBS studio software here on macOS Catalina 10.15.6
I am using a Panasonic HC-X1000 camera, running it through Ultrastudio recorder 3G and USB-C into my computer.

I have a wireless lav mic plugged into the camera via XLR. Lav mic works great. However, when I have run test streams in OBS, video looks good but audio is skipping and humming. This happens when I select "Blackmagic 3G device" but when I use the desktop audio, I can hear it, but I can also hear myself breathing, walking, etc.

How can I integrate the lav mic into OBS and my live production on youtube? Is the better option to have a direct line in XLR connection to the camera?
Any help is appreciated. I am growing frustrated.

Thanks

Howdy! Here is the the way I have it set up. Depending on the equipment you have, maybe you can try something similar to what I am doing. I am running a wireless lav into an audio mixer (or something like a Scarlet 2i2 would work as well) and then running that directly into the computer and into OBS. The camera is then running an SDI out into a BlackMagic ATEM TV Studio. Then I'm running the HDMI out of the ATEM through a capture card, and then selecting that capture card in OBS. So I completely separate audio and video, and then sync them up in OBS using the "Video Render Delay" as well as the "Audio Sync Offset." This solution works for me, but not everyone has access to the right equipment to do the set up I have. If you only have 1 camera, you can completely disregard the ATEM (mixer) step and run the camera directly into the computer via whatever capture card you have access to.

Hopefully this helps.
