Question / Help Installer or zip file

Hey folks,

today i want to try the new obs studio.
But i wonder if it better to install it or to use an zip file?

The old obs i used allways as portable but i cant find an portable/zip version for the new one.
So, can i unzip the installer and everything works fine?

The only difference I can think of is that the installer will check for dependencies like Visual Studio runtime and DirectX, if you have those installed correctly then you could just use the zip version as far as I know.

If you want a fully portable version you need to create a file named like one of this ones in the same folder where the bin, data and obs-plugins folders are.

The only advantage is that the installer checks for missing dependencies like VC Redist und DirectX.
