Question / Help Installation Failed

So I was hoping to use this broadcaster to livestream my drawings, but when I went to download it, it said that the download would take 2 hours. Ten minutes later, it said "Failed". No reason why, just that it failed. I've tried downloading it multiple times but it just does the same thing. I've been able to download other things with ease, just not this program.

Any idea for how to fix this?

I would like to note that 2 Anti-Virus solutions even if one isn't working right, tends to cause any number of issues. If Norton is not active I would say remove its not helping you at all. They could be conflicting and causing the download issue.

Personally I haven't had Avast block any of the OBS downloads. I have had windows try to prevent them from running if they are very new releases because it hasn't seen it enough yet to think its safe.

My other thought would be internet or maybe other issue that with internet that might be out of your and your ISP's control, and even the host of the files control. I really hate those issues.

What is your download speed normally for a less than 200MB file?

I'm not sure of my download speed. My internet seems to fluctuate, especially past 7:00. That's when the local immigrants of where I live all get off of work and facetime their families, so the internet on my entire island drops so bad that you can't even watch YouTube. My house is supposed to have business speed internet because my mother has to have it for work purposes, but after 7:00 it's all downhill. As of right now I just took a test (it's currently 9:02 am) And it said that my internet speed was very slow, and that videos would probably move slowly. However, I went onto YouTube and all of the videos loaded so fast that the little circle of dots loading sign didn't show up, so I don't think that the typical Google internet speed test is very accurate.

So, I should try and uninstall Norton as it and Avast could be conflicting?

AV ramble:
As for AntiVirus if your Norton does not have an active subscription for it to function correctly yes uninstall it. It is doing you no good being installed.
If both are AV's are active then choose one, the last thing you want is them fighting over files as they come in on download, which is possible even if one isn't active(AV's are weird). One example of worse case scenario with 2 AV's I have had to deal with is one would actually block a uninstaller from the vendor of the other, not to mention making the system feel like it was from the early 2000's.

What can happen is they both see a new file coming in and say to the system hey we need to make sure that the file wont cause an infection to occur. So they both put or try to anyway put a scan on to the file, and then in turn see something that's not normal going on because they are both trying to scan so the file gets marked for quarantine by both.

Having both AV's even if they aren't both active with a licence could be causing internet/network issues in general on that system. Especially if they both have a firewall aspect that is/was enabled at one point in time. Like the file example above they would both still be hooked into the network adapters. Both trying to protect you from bad things and in turn themselves.

If you plan on removing Norton. I would suggest after you run the uninstaller from the add/remove applications. Google "norton uninstaller" and you should find from norton themselves an uninstaller tool that will remove all traces of norton just in case. For above reasons.

Internet ramble:
You can try services like speedtest.net(varies on accuracy is my understanding and experience, and i think is the general consensus on that test), testmy.net and many others for download and upload. but it sounds like the local isp/ network area might be congested. Your ISP could also be giving higher priority to certain services like youtube.

It definitely could not hurt to try another browser, like firefox or even Internet Explorer. As they handle downloads differently. Could just be one of the reasons in the AV section(I am hoping actually thats the case)

Definitely check your speeds after you remove norton. or avast. either way.

I spend wayyy to much time in front of computers............... maybe... precious computer. o.o I like fixing things.

Well, I haven't tried downloading it on other browsers and the above post just went completely over my head with techy talk (I don't even know what an AV is XD) so I'll just try that. Also, when I went to uninstall Norton, I discovered that I didn't even have it on my computer - I'd already uninstalled it sometime in the past. So yeah, I'll try Chrome and then Explorer and get back to you.

Well it appears that it's still taking forever, my computer estimated that the simple installer would take 9 hours. That was on Chrome. If this one fails, I'll try it on Explorer.

EDIT: Chrome failed due to what it says was a "Network error" as well. On to Explorer it is.
