Bug Report Infrequent crashing, happens seemingly at random, and during the most inopportune times.

So I was speedrunning God of War and got raided twice in the same night by two different people. Shortly after both raids started, my OBS crashed. When I boot it back up, my Elgato HD Game Recorder is "being used by another application" which I assume is the crashed OBS from before. But I cannot for the life of me restore the game feed after it happens. Doing a full shutdown of the computer usually solves this problem, but when people speedrun, the timer can't be saved in a paused state. I am trying to make this never happen again, because it can and will destroy a personal best in the future. Here is the crash log for both streams:

Thank you guys for any help!

Please also post your regular log files for the sessions associated with those crashes. They are located in "%AppData%\obs-studio\logs", as shown here.

Here: It only goes back to 1:50AM EST. I think the crashes happened before that

Ah, yeah. Log files are cycled out after a certain number are created. Unfortunately, it seems the crash logs predate your earliest regular logs. If you get another crash like this, upload both the crash and regular logs together. Unfortunately, as it is, there's not much useful info that I can see in the logs that you've provided. There are a few errors in regarding the Elgato and DShow, but I don't know what they mean.

If it happens again, you could try to check your processes in Task Manager to see if some process related to OBS Studio or the Elgato is still running in the background. If there is, you could try closing it.

I have tried closing OBS, killing its process, everything to "release" its grasp on my capture card, but nothing works. It's super frustrating when this happens during a long game speed run, because generally speaking the run is over because of it. I'll take your advice and grab the logs if it happens again. Thanks!

So I looked back at my old clips, and it seems like the crash may be coorelated to my donations. The crashes happened shortly after or before receiving a donation. Donation wise I have an alert that comes up, and 2 text fields that update during donations. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

Maybe? Is this using the new GDI+ text source linked to a local file? What about when you get a new follower?

When I get a new follower it seems to be fine. Im theorizing it has something to with the donation gif i have set for it, conflicting with the game feed which breaks obs. I am going to stream something tonight keeping the crash prone settings and hopefully obs crashes so I can get the logs for you.

Ahhh, so you have a GIF play? Then it might not be related to the text files at all, but to the GIF file itself. Has the GIF file ever played properly without crashing before?

Good luck! I hope your stream doesn't crash! But if it does, I'd love to see the logs.
