Indicator showing whether recording is on/off

I found an older thread discussing this issue: when I am recording (or streaming) there should be an on-screen indicator so that I am aware. This especially important with very cluttered desktops and full-screen games or other applications. I would also expect it to be configurable so that you can size it and move it around the screen at a location which will be least obstrusive.

I tried to find something in the settings, but there is nothing.

If you know of a way please let me know.

Same issue. I tried the Red Dot plugin, but with OBS being so different from when that came out I am a little confused about using it. One source said to drag the Red Dot files into the OBS installation directory, but I'm not seeing the red dot while recording. So I dragged the files to the plugin folder instead (the most LOGICAL thing, one would think), but I am still not seeing it. I really want an indicator like Shadowplay has. Guess we'll have to rely on some kind of sound indicator, but I'm too noob to figure that one out either.
