Incoming video (on Skype) lags behind sound (or perhaps freezes entirely) when using OBS virtual camera

Hi Everyone,

If someone can help me with my problem that would be greatly appreciated.

I am teaching drum lessons on Skype and I'm using the virtual camera on OBS. I'm using Windows 10.

I have a number of cameras going into my system which I have combined together to create various scenes with combined cameras. I have an audio interface dealing with my sound separately from the cameras but it is also going through virtual camera. I'm using the audio delay function on one of my scenes.

My issue is that when I use the virtual camera during a Skype call, the incoming video from the person I am talking to seems to get progressively more and more behind their audio (or perhaps their video freezes entirely while their audio continues). I'm very sure it has to do with my use of the virtual camera because as soon as I start another call using one of my cameras directly there's no issue.

As far as I can tell the video and audio I am sending them is okay. I'm not sure how using the virtual camera on my end would have any effect on their incoming video and sound other than if the virtual camera is making my system sluggish. But in that case I assume that would also have a significant effect on the video and audio I am sending, but so far I am unaware of any such problem.

It's interesting that the incoming video is displaying the inverse effect of what I have with my set up (it has video delay rather then audio delay). Not sure if that might be a hint as to what is going on.

Again, help would be sincerely appreciated.
