Question / Help Include videos in a slide show

First off, I'm completely new to OBS and I'm still trying to learn everything it can and can't do so please forgive my ignorance. I'm running the newest version of OBS studio as of 12.12.17 on Mac OSx High Sierra. What I'm wanting to do seems simple I just can't seem to get it to work. I want to run a slide show with one of the slides being a video, all running on an automatic loop. Meaning, Slide 1 is a .mp4, Slide 2 is a .jpg, slide 3 is a .jpg, slide 4 is a .jpg, then start back over at slide 1. I would love if there was a way for me to create the slide show in Keynote and then import into OBS. One thought I had was adding a picture slide item and the video separate, but I don't know how to transition automatically from items then loop back to the previous item. This seems like such a simple task.

Are you manually advancing slides? If not, the best solution might be to make a video of the entire slideshow, with the existing video in the proper place, and use that as a single source.

If not, I'm not sure what you should do-- I believe slideshow sources are images only.

Keynote unfortunately is difficult to work with in OBS, since when it goes into slideshow mode it blanks all other displays, and there's no way to stop it. So you could display capture Keynote running a slideshow, but then you'd lose access to your OBS window for controlling the output. You'd have to use automatic scene switching and hope it works. You could set it up so it captures Keynote when Keynote is the frontmost app, and then switch to the video source when a video player is frontmost. (See if you can use Display capture cropped to window for that, it'll perform better than window capture).

I'm wanting the slides to advance automatically. I'm using it as a pre-show announcements, and the video is a animated logo. I figure I'll try to drop the slides into iMovie and try to make a .mp4 out of the slide show and then import that into OBS. If I can't get that to work then I'll just make the animated logo a flat .jpg image. I don't really want to do the last one, but it's better than nothing.

I'd love that feature too. i.e. make a loop out of various media... i.e. play an MP4, then a still, then a diff MP4, a couple more stills, etc. then loop to the first MP4. Essentially like the slideshow currently, but it would be nice to be a MEDIA slide show, instead of just an image slideshow.

Hey Steven, I've been talking about similar issues with using Keynote in another thread that you might be interested in looking at. I haven't tried to do exactly what you are describing, but you might find something that could help you.
