Hi all,

Im posting on here as i've hit a wall and just cannot seem to fix whats going on. Basically I stream games on Twitch, mostly games like Overwatch, H1Z1 and now Ghost Recon Wildlands. Some games i can stream in 60fps just fine but these above games, which i know are hard to optimize I am finding it impossible.

I am getting Warning, High Encoding Please Consider Turning Down....... Yet im getting zero dropped frames.

My setup is i6700k @ 4.5Ghz, 32GB DDR4, Nvidia GTX 970, Internet: 250mb Down / 20mb Up.

I have read people online streaming the same games saying Medium Preset @ 3500 kbps works perfectly, yet i have no chance ever streaming below Very Fast, If i stream Superfast I dont get the encoder overload warning but the stream looks pixelated.

I am going to be getting a GTX 1080 at some point, will this help my issue?

I don't know if I get you right on this, but your framerates ingame are above 60 I assume? But your Stream doesn't reach that level? You are using x264 as you mentioned to use the "very fast" setting? x264 gives you very good video quality, but also takes away more of your cpu performance. Did you try another codec? What are the results with NVENC or Quicksync?

Sounds like you're trying to use QuickSync, when I see the high encoding warning, it actually means the video encoder has crashed, you have to try using a lower profile like balanced.

Im using x264 Yep, ive been adviced not to use QuickSync or NVENC due to quality issues? Also like i say i hear of many people using this CPU without issue.

Ingame FPS on overwatch for example averages between 120-170 but streams around 55fps when set to 60fps, i have no issue with this but its the high encoding overload message i get which is the problem

if you stream superfast, do you still get sub-60 fps? if so, then you're gpu bound. Also, you're not mentioning what resolution you're streaming at - 1080p i'm guessing?

Yep whichever preset i use im still getting sub 60fps AND encoding overload on Ghost Recon and Overwatch so those games im streaming at 30fps at the moment,

I play at 1080 and downscale in OBS to 720p
