I would like to use my mic as two different audio sources with different settings

I use obs to record a variety of different things, from games to meetings, and I'm too lazy to manually configure my settings everytime I need to go to one or the other. So, the only other thing I can think of to make my life easier is to do this. I currently have OBS set up with 2 audio sources (So 2 audio streams). Stream 1 is speakers, stream 2 is my mic with push to talk. This works great for games because I use my push to talk to talk to my friends, so it only records me when I talk. That's perfect and I love it. However, when I need to record meetings, I am basically recording everyone talking EXCEPT me, because I always forget to push my push to talk. I would like to add a third audio stream that is just my mic, but without push to talk. I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this, because push to talk seems to be a global thing on my mic. I would like to avoid getting a second mic in order to do this. If the solution that I've come up with in order to do this is complete overkill and unnecessary, I wouldn't be surprised... I feel like there has to be an easier way to do this, but I'm not sure how. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it.

On my Mac, I use the Loopback application to create a Virtual Input with my microphone and I set it up on a second scene from the initial microphone, with two different filters for my singer who has a scene where she is NOT singing, only talking, so she doesn't want reverb but wants different filters that support her talking voice. For performing, she will switch scenes and get totally different filters for her singing voice.

She can also just kill the reverb when she's in the singing scene, but she uses these scenes differently so this is what we set up.

I'm sure you can set up a virtual input on the PC as well - I'm just not clear how to do it.

Hi,

I have been streaming for a while with OBS on Windows 10 with no problem. Earlier this week, I added a new plugin (OBS Vintage, which is not working) and now notice that OBS sees my iRig Stream however I am bit getting any reading in the meter and no sound. Same in Windows Audio settings. I must have disabled something. I can hear audio when plugging my headphones into the iRig Stream but again nothing in meters. Please please help!!!!

That's actually extremely helpful. I know windows has a loopback system like that built in. It sucks and is very limiting, but it should be enough for my purposes. I wish I had thought of this myself, thank you!

Apparently I am wrong actually. Windows system is in fact, so simple that you can't have it loop back recording devices, you can only have it loop back output devices. So I could have windows treat my speakers as a mic, but I can not have it create a second mic source from my mic.

Just add a new audio device, select your existing mic, and set your PTT device to not be captured in the recording (under advanced audio options, uncheck from track 1).
