Hi everyone,

I really need your help. I try every method, i check many post on the forum and i still have the same problem. I explain.

I have two canon camera, a 1100D and a 6D. I installed EOS Webcam utility on my laptop which is a ROG Strix G and everything works fine on OBS also the 1100D that normally must be not compatible it is working with the plugin.

But on the computer of my wife, it's not working. Black Screen. Whatever i do. She has a Lenovo Ideapad 700 core i7 (it's nearly more powerful than my ROG). I try to uninstall, reinstall, i tried different USB port, different cable, i go to the privacy setting, everythhing is ok, EOS utility is turn off, but i still have black screen.

I really don't understant. Is someone already had this troubleshooting and can help me ?

Thanks.

My first recommendation is always to get audio and video input sources working OUTSIDE of OBS (OBS not even running) .. FIRST

So, on your wife's PC, does the poorly written EOS webcam util work? do you get camera video input showing up in other apps?
You could have an OS security setting blocking access to the camera in general, or OBS not allowed access. I'd start here

Then, as others note: the utility does fairly low resolution, and no microphone (last I read/saw a while back)
You will get *much* better image quality if you use the camera's HDMI output into a HDMI capture card.. but it is a bit more involved to get setup, and camera settings for clean HDMI output, etc.

Just buy one of those cheap $20 usb capture cards for your camera... then you won't need such software to use it as a webcam on everything. Unless you need 1080p 60fps then you will have to spend more.

I know you want to use the software so you don't have to spend extra money. Anyways uninstalling teh software, rebooting the PC and installing again the software(if there is an option for older versions of the EOS software then those too), make any difference? I am assuming its connected by USB - try different USB ports. Also what happens if you connect your camera in hers? As well the camera she has on your computer?
