I was in studio mode and I transitioned something quite a while ago and I haven't been able to undo that.

So I was in studio mode and I transitioned something and now studio mode is linked to the main screen how do I unlink that I've never been able to use studio mode since everything I do in studio shows up live on the main screen how do I unlink them? I've deleted the transitions I've deleted a bunch of stuff I think I messed it all up but they're still linked I can't unlink that studio mode screen from the main screen.

Studio screen is linked to the main screen I can't unlink it I don't know how, so at this point it doesn't do me any good.

I can't see any way to break the link or stop sharing that screen from studio to the live screen how do I stop sharing that screen it's been like that for a couple months now so I can't do anything in studio I'm sure it's something simple but I can't find it.

Man this is a pain in the **** anything I do in studio shows up on live immediately they're linked I cannot unlink them so frustrating defeats the entire purpose of studio how do I unlink them?

Anything i do on my studio screen instantly shows up on my main screen O it's as no help at all at this point how do i break that connection.

So by clicking on the Studio button under the Controls column doesn't fix it?!?
When I click on the studio button it opens up studio mode. And the studio screen is linked to the live screen. I don't know how to unlink it that doesn't do me any good anything I do on the studio screen is happening live. I need to unlink the studio screen so I can work on things in studio mode and then transition them to life that's the purpose of studio mode. But right now anything i do on the studio screen is happening live on the live screen I can't unlink them?

I'm with Blackink, clicking the Studio button under the Controls column should give you, two views, one is the pure Studio mode single screen showing what is/would go out live if you were streaming, the alternate view will give you two screens (probably not the correct term) one is the Preview screen (on the left), the second screen next to it on the right is the Studio view which is/would go out live if you were streaming. In this view you can change anything in the Preview screen and when you have built the scenes or content you can transition the Preview view to the Live stream.

Yes my stream is live 24/7 and right now the studio preview screen is connected to that stream anything I do in the studio preview stream happens on the live stream instantly it's not separated I don't know how to explain this better I need to unlink them so I can use the studio screen separately and do what I want before I transition it. Right now the two screens are linked permanently anything I do on the studio screen happens immediately as I'm doing it on the live screen I need to unlink them so I can use this studio stream to set up the new stream and then push it live I don't know how to better explain this they're permanently linked right now I need to unlink them.

Click the 3 vertical dots right of [Transition] and enable "Duplicate Scene". You may also need to enable "Duplicate Sources"

yeah they're all unchecked and same thing when I do anything on the left side it duplicates it on the right side I cannot seem to undo that?

Again I don't know how to explain this any better those screens are connected no matter what I do I don't have my studio screen independent of my live screen so it's useless at this point anything I do on that studio screen shows up on my live screen! I'm just asking how do I break that connection because right now the studio screen is useless I can't do anything there as it happens live.

Well any ideas, i don't think anybody's reading what i'm writing when I'm in studio mode anything I do on the left shows up on the right immediately kind of defeats the purpose of having studio mode. Again I will say this for the 15th time in this post how do I unlink them? They are continually linked I cannot do anything in studio mode because it shows up live as I'm doing it how do I unlink the studio screen so I can actually use studio mode?

Have you RTFM on Studio Mode? You can change in the Preview window some things that have to do with composition. You run into issues (as alluded to before with Duplicate vs Referenced Sources) if you try and change a Source

For example, I use PowerPoint as a Windows Capture. There is a single Source... I can't change something in PowerPoint itself and not have that change in the Studio (Live) Window. That is NOT an issue with OBS Studio.

So, it depends on what you are changing, exactly. Some things can be changed in Preview, and wait until you transition that to Studio/Live. Others no.
So, relax take a deep breath and duplicate the Scene. Now edit the copied Scene (duplicated, not referenced Sources, other than maybe camera presuming not playing with filters, etc) in Preview Window. Once happy, now make that Live. There is more nuanced approaches, but try this to start

Yes it's checked and unchecked and checked like I said nothing changes anything they're both linked all the time completely defeats the purpose of studio mode how can I set something up on studio if it's replicating it live. Nothing i seemed to do unhooks them.
