If I adjust the volume bar on obs to a lower amount, will what I record be harder to hear?
I have the headphone on and what i am recording is too loud for my ear, but I am afraid to adjust my desktop volume or obs or the screen I am recording for fear of the recording being hard to hear after the fact.

I want highest audio sound possible but without hurting my ears with the head phone on. Thanks in advance.

I alluded to this in the other thread, but I'll say it more plainly here:
You really need to understand the entire signal flow of what you have. Draw a diagram, that includes every individual signal, and everything that touches each of those signals. Follow each signal through in order, from raw source to final destination, mixing and splitting as necessary, and be especially careful to keep the order straight.

Generally, the soft standard is for signals to flow from left to right, so put your mic(s) and other raw sources on the far left, and the headphones, stream, and other destinations on the far right. In between, you have things like your PC's mic input(s), some of the OS's controls, whatever processing you have in OBS, some more OS controls, etc.

Follow that diagram through, make sure it's accurate to what's actually happening, and then see what controls affect what destinations. (look at the entire rig, not just OBS) At that point, maybe you can figure out the answer for yourself.
