Question / Help I just want to record portions of youtube videos. Is there a generic +Source setting I can use?

I've been reading the FAQ list and reading messages. People are talking about things and using phrases I never heard of. I'm about to decide I'm not smart enough to use this software. If I don't get some help pretty soon I'm going to uninstall and try something else.
 
I should have made it clear that I had put a video link on Chrome's bookmarks, clicked it to start the video, then opened the pre-configured OBS program and clicked to start recording. A popup said I had to select a "Source" item by the "+" icon. The drop down list was a bunch of stuff I didn't understand. I looked all over the place trying to get information about them and found nothing. So I come to this forum to figure how how to record something. I'm thinking there ain't nobody here.
 
I don't want to appear rude, but OBS is a very complex piece of software. You have to learn its proper usage. It doesn't work if you don't even put a minimum amount of effort into trying to understand how it works. You also need to have a basic knowledge about video recording and processing.

If you don't want to get a better understanding of what you do, if you want "just record something", OBS isn't the right tool for you.
If you just want a piece of Youtube saved locally, you might look for software that can be found by googling for "Youtube downloader" or "Video downloader" or something like this. Although Youtube frowns at doing this, I assume there are still much of these apps around.
