I have two audio sources, but using the USB connection on the ZED24 results not good

Our church has a A&H ZED 24. We had a celebration of life that I video'd for the family and during that event a lady sang a solo with a background music from CD player (which was also connected to the ZED 24). The end result was one audio track in the MKV file and the background music from the CD is not well balanced with her voice in the mkv file. Since all the audio is on one track, we need to redo her solo. We recently reconfigured the ZED 24 which gives us separate control over the volume in the sanctuary vs the volume gain going to through the USB cable to OSB Studio. What I am considering is shutting off the CD music from going over the USB connection but let that cd background music play through the sanctuary speakers so she can hear it. Then I would later add the CD music to a separate track.

I am making an assumption that since we have one connection (USB to PC) carrying all audio (Singing and CD generated) I cannot split the singing and CD generated into separate tracks. Please let me know if I am overlooking something here. Assuming this is correct, how do I add the CD music as a second track in post to the MKV file?
