A suggestion: Try running GPU-Z from TechPowerUp. Find out which core it is. I got hit with this when I bought a GT730 from someone on Craigslist, especially considering I've been an AMD loyalist (don't hurt me, please!).

The card worked fine and is a console card in one of my ESXi servers. But there was one small problem: It uses the Fermi core (type GF108). Fermi cores are incapable of NVEnc.

I -DO-, however, have two GT710s which are type GK208. The "K" stands for "Kepler", which, unlike Fermi, -IS- capable of NVEnc. That's why they are in machines I have assigned as encoder/streamer machines (I use a two-PC setup).

Kepler, Pascal, Maxwell and Turing all support NVEnc. Ampere -SHOULD- but don't quote me on it.

Here's some more information for your reference (which I did for my own research):

NVidia's reference on settings in OBS Studio for its bundled NVEnc encoder

Elgato's cheat sheet about which NVidia devices do and do not support NVEnc

So, if your core type has "GK" (Kepler), "GP" (Pascal), "GM" (Maxwell), or "TU" (Turing) at the beginning, these DO support NVEnc.

If it has "GF" at the beginning, this DOES NOT support NVEnc.

I hope this helps out a bit.

Thank you for your support, but when I run version 27.1.3, I choose NVIDIA NVENC H.264 (new) normally but when I install 27.2.1 I get an error this is my GPU-Z

i think it's buggy on windows 11 i installed it on my 2nd pc running windows 10 it works fine
no it is your driver.
OBS did update ffmpeg and for that there are new min versions.

Corresponds to Video Codec SDK version 11.0.10.

Minimum required driver versions:
Linux: 470.57.02 or newer
Windows: 471.41 or newer

Your driver is older!
