I deleted a video, but the space it took is still there.

I recorded eight hours of footage, and deleted the video after editing, but the space it took is still on my C: drive. How do I get rid of it?

How full is the drive? Might need more stuff eliminated or it could be something else.

Try re-starting if you haven't done that yet.

I used the recycle bin to delete it. All the space it took is still there
What do you mean?
did you delete the file and that video file is now in the Recycle Bin? if yes, then of course space still consumed on the drive... exactly by design and function for last couple of decades, plus (whenever Recycle Bin was started, Win9x??)

OR

did you delete the file and confirm the file is NOT showing in the Recycle Bin? if yes, then the OS will sometimes take time to do file maintenance/updates. An OS reboot is one way to force start that process, but there are others (including command line). Patience is a virtue, and it depends on what else the operating system and background processes are up to before the OS will update Windows Explorer free disk space value (much quicker on modern SSDs than back in HDD days)

It could also be that the space is indeed free, but it's not getting reported that way yet. I've seen that too. Refreshing the file browser (F5) usually fixes that.
