Question / Help I changed from old OBS to OBS studio and experienced massive fps drops

Hi everyone

So yesterday i got the new obs since it’s supposed to be much more responsive and optimized, but it turned out to be the contrary for me.

I started streaming around a month and a half ago using the old version with really high settings, while streaming and ultra game settings as well. I streamed at 720p at 60 fps with low fps drops and barely any dropped frames at all (0.5 % to 1 % for a 5 hr stream). The bitrate I chose (3500) was pretty high for the settings I had, nonetheless it ranned with no issues at all.

Every single game ranned pretty well bf4, cs, paladins etc. My rigged supported this settings since I have an intel i7 4790k, 16 gb of ram and a gtx1070. Also an up speed of 25 mb. I chosed the rio de janeiro server since it showed 100 quality (http://i.imgur.com/s4irgoC.png).

So as stated at the beginning I changed to OBS studio, set up everything as before except I lowered the bitrate because I learned I was using way to much bitrate, for the quality I was using.

So here I had the problem. I started CSGO and the stream. I got extremely low fps playing , up to 80 fps one time playing on dust 2 (an avg of 120 150 fps FOR CS THIS IS UNPLAYABLE). A map on which I previously had 250 avg fps, streaming on old obs.

So what could be causing this problem? I really like the new obs so i´d like to fix this issue.

I hope I made myself clear and thanks for any help.

try some other games as I also have an issue where Rocket League caps a ~30fps and CSGO at ~40fps just with the preview open without recording or streaming.

I would like to know the answer to this Question as well. I just changed from Classic to Studio because my Classic all the sudden had offysnc Audio and on the Classic forum I got the answer to use Studio since Classic receives no more support. So switch to Studio, set it all up the way it was on Classic, using the QuickSync encoding option like i did on Classic. And now my games are UNPLAYABLE! Framedrops even when i put my game settings to the very lowest possible for let's say Rocket League, never had any issues, now it's unplayeble due to framedrops in game.

IF you want us to use Studio and tell us it's a better program than Classic, please back us up with support for this because I'm not willing to lower my streaming settings because I only stream in 720p at 30-35 FPS and lowering that would just mean shooting myself in the foot for going for crappier software and streaming resolution which will eventually drop off in viewers in the near future.

I've been using Classic since May this year, NEVER EVER had any issues with it until a few weeks ago, my sound went offsync and never got it back to the way it was. My thread about this WITH LOG is on https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-classic-win-10-pc-audio-off-sync-quicksync.57227/ for anyone from support who might be willing ot take a look into my LOG to tell me if I myself made a boo-boo by messing up a settings unwillingly.

But back to Studio, please help us out because this is really annoying to having to excuse yourself daily to your viewers that in the Classic case the Audio is off, or in the Studio case the gameplay looks like shit because you can't play competitive games with framedrops in a game like Rocket League.

My logfiles for OBS Studio AND Classic are in the links below:

Why do you have all these copies of sources? Like all the browser sources, if they contain the exact same thing in every scene, you need to use "Add Existing" option when adding the sources to the scene. Same goes for all these facerig sources, also Facerig is probably not light on the cpu, especially if you have so many of them.

Remember, all sources are global.

Also that log doesn't contain recording/streaming session.

Does this help? https://gist.github.com/anonymous/86e2908c135bd32054aa43509916ec52 there is a delay of a few seconds and still can't figure out why.
