I can't set hotkeys as normal user, no screen capture as root

Hello,

I'm using Fedora 34 with Gnome 40.4.0. I successfully installed OBS Studio, but when I try to set hotkeys as normal user, nothing happens.
I tried to start OBS Studio as root. I can set hotkeys there, but I'm not able to capture screen nor windows ran as a normal user (and I can't run those apps as root).

Any solutions?

Thank you!

Same issue here. Also on Fedora 34 with Gnome. There's also nothing showing up in the logs when I open the Hotkey Settings or try to "type" a hotkey. Not even when I start obs with `obs --verbose --unfiltered_log`.

If you are running on wayland there will be no hotkey support. That is due to wayland's security design. No application can listen to keystrokes when it is not in focus. Perhaps you can create an exception in gnome for this behavior.

Yeah Fedora 34 uses Wayland by default. I'd be fine with it only working while in focus. That would certainly be better than straight up not having any.
