Question / Help I cant get audio into OBS (Catalina OS) with Scarlet 2i2 audio interface

Hello all:

I am running OBS studio from a new IMAC with Catalina OSX. I have a focusrite Scarlet 2i2 audio interface. It is probably the first one ever made. I can hear the audio on my monitor speakers running out of my Scarlet 2i2. I hear sound. But When I stream or record into OBS, no sound is being sent to OBS. The input levels are not showing in OBS at all. I select "input capture" Then select my Scarlet 2i2 audio interface. No audio goes into OBS. I even tried to go on the main settings even selected "mic/auxiliary Audio channel 1" and nothing. No audio goes into OBS.

I even went to MAc's system preferences and selected my scarlet 2i2 as input and output devices. And nothing goes into OBS. Video is fine but no audio is going into the OBS software. I am using the most current obs software. 24.0.6

my Scarlett 2i2 is working fine. in Settings/Audio - i have Advanced, then made Track 1 "scarlett". in the Audio tab, Mic/Auxilary Audio is set to Scarlett 2i2 USB (from the dropdown).
in my scene/source, i pick Audio Input Capture and then added the existing "scarlett" i had created in Settings previously. hooked up the Scarlett & xlr mic as usual, and it works. i think the step you are missing is Settings/Audio.

Hello Tabarhart. That did not work. Where in the "Settings/Audio" window are you speaking of? I still dont see audio coming into the vu meters for volume. I added audio input capture track 1 like you said, dropped down and added scarlet and still no sound is going into obs. I hear the sound on my monitor speakers but that is connected my scarlet. the problem is not audio is going into OBS itself. So, when I record , no sound is being recorded or streamed. =(

Hi All,

Having the same issue. Did you manage to resolve? Instructions linked above are for Windows and I am using Mac.

Are you guys running a loop back capable plugin like soundflower or black hole??? As you need one of these.
Mac OS doesn’t support recording audio direct so it needs a plugin

If you’ve already got all this just watch the YouTube vid I’ve posted link it will explain everything

I use soundflower as there is a new supported version for Catalina.

hope this helps the tuber on the video explains it very well just follow his instructions.
If you don’t have Logic yet it’s free for 90days this method also works for any Daw
