Question / Help I cannot get OBS Studio to record Game Audio at all

I can record my microphone just fine but for about 2 months now OBS has been failing me. I tried switching to something else and it worked even worse. Anyway I was able to fix an error that was making my recording purple but I was unable to celebrate my victory as I instantly had another issue. My desktop sound will not show up in recordings. When I am recording the desktop audio seems to be working as the OBS mixer is showing the audio levels however when I try playing it back desktop sound is nonexistent. Anyone know why?

While I'm not an expert at reading logs, I can't tell what all of your settings are so I'll go by mistakes I've made.

I notice that you're recording to just one track, Track 1.
[Output/Advanced/Recording] you can pick how many audio tracks you're recording to. The more audio tracks you want to record to, click the appropriate number.

[Mixer Window/Gear Icon/Advanced Audio Properties] Monitor off for both Mic & Desktop. If you only have 1 track you're recording to that you have both the Mic & Desktop Audio selected for Track 1. You can put everything on 1 track, but some people want more control when editing. If you're never going to edit, keeping everything on track 1 is just fine. For example you could be recoding to 2 audio tracks. Track 1 for your Desktop Audio, and Track 2 for your Mic. In editing software you can edit each audio track separately if you wish to.

[Settings/Audio] I've found that leaving Desktop Audio at "Default" works best.
