Hi, my problem is as above!

and bare in mind I only have a 1080p monitor

I had an old version of obs, maybe it was from 2017? Anyway I hadn't used it for a while, used it last week, did some 1080 strams no problem, tried out 4k stream and just changed the canvas and output to 3840x2160 and did a 4k stream no problem.

Started having some disconnection issues so updated obs and my cable etc and that seems fixed but now whenever i try setting the canvas and output to 3840x2160 it will always output on youtube as 1440p with a warning above the video saying
Unsupported resolution for latency configuration
You need to change the video resolution. The current resolution is (3840x2160), which is not supported for this configuration. The expected video resolution is (2560x1440).

"

Any ideas?

Update Windows.

Also I believe the max configuration for NVENC is 2560x2560, so for 3840x2160 you'd need to use x264.

It is 4096x4096 but i don't see any problem in the log.
@jumble5 after you updated your windows and drivers, could you set your settings than close obs, than start obs again stream for 10 mins, than stop the stream and upload the current log if your problem still exists after the update?

My apologies, I gave the wrong resolution figure.

Should probably still update Windows anyway to get away from the broken implementation of Game Mode, but I don't think that is causing your issue.

i have no clue what is wrong there. It is no OBS problem, I can stream on youtube 1440p30, 1440p60, 2160p30, 2160p60 without any problem.

So describe as detailed as possible what you do on youtube to stream, or make a video of the steps. Maybe than we can help you.

Yeah it's annoying. I'm doing nothing different than I used to.

I'm not the most pro user of OBS and there's still a few functions I don't know what they do but I did over 100 1080p streams no problem then did about 5 4k streams absolutely no problem.
Sometimes I'd just stream photos for family. Load slide show with a load of photos and hit "start stream" and hey presto, a perfect 4k stream. I'd talk through the mic etc, play music, basic stuff

One thing that sticks in my mind is I tried obs streamlabs as I heard it was better, I didnt like it but I remember when setting up there was an option to "check stream strength"? or something like that?
It was an option to get an idea how fast my upload was and it would set the settings accordingly?
I remember it said my optimal setting was 1440p. But then I deleted it.
Maybe there was a conflict there?

Also on my windows update page it says "The Windows 10 May 2019 Update is on its way. We're offering this update to compatible devices, but your device isn't quite ready for it" It updated quite a few windows things yesterday though.

Apart from that I can't think of anything.
I've tried going back to the older versions with no luck either.

I'm willing to try anything! I'm desperate! :P

Sorry for this 2nd post but it's started streaming in 4k again now.
I don't understand this.

I did just uninstall streamlabs, do you think that's related?
